At a glance

Primary Teachers Training Institute (PTI), is a traditional institution of Khagrachari district. This institution was established in 2017. The main responsibility of this institution is to provide basic training to government primary school teachers engaged in primary education. PTI is an essential institution for training primary education teachers in Bangladesh. Presently ten (10) months revised DPED (Basic Training for Primary Teachers-BTPT) program for primary teachers is ongoing. A one and a half year Diploma in Primary Education (DPEd) and 1 year Certificate in Education (C.In.Ed) courses have been conducted for teachers at PTI prior to the revised DPED (Basic Training for Primary Teachers-BTPT) training. The currently ongoing Revised DPed (Basic Training for Primary Teachers-BTPT) course is a very modern quality training which has been prepared with an international standard curriculum keeping in mind the contemporary needs of teachers. Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Directorate of Primary Education, National Academy of Primary Education (NEP) is providing assistance in conducting this course. Apart from the revised DPED (Basic Training for Primary Teachers - BTPT) training, the institute conducts other trainings, workshops, exchange meetings. Besides, this institution has a modern ICT lab through which every year hundreds of teachers apply the knowledge gained in ICT training in the classroom. This institution has 08 Upazila Resource Centers (URC). Current subject based and other short term training is imparted to the field level teachers through the said URC.

PTI Affiliated Examination Schools:

There is a test school inside this institution. The use of modern and contemporary teaching-learning methods and techniques differentiates the pilot school from other typical government primary schools. There are 06 teachers for this school. New ideas and methods in the primary education system are practically applied in pilot schools. Basically, this school is used as a breeding ground for practicing contemporary teaching methods and techniques. Parikshana Vidyalaya attached to PTI is known as a reputed educational institution in the upazila. Every year a significant number of students from this school get good results increasing the reputation of this institution. Both the trainees of this institution and the students of the experimental school have the opportunity to improve their quality through the practice of various teaching-learning techniques.

 

PTI includes URC :

Upazila Resource Center (URC) is a field level institution managed under the Directorate of Primary Education under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. The institute is implementing subject-wise and other in-service training for government primary school teachers. The main aim of establishing URC is to increase the professional skills of primary school teachers and improve the quality of daily teaching and learning activities by providing modern training. Each URC is headed by a URC instructor.

The Primary Teachers Training Institute (PTI) operated under the Directorate of Primary Education under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education acts as the local regulatory authority for URC. Various ToT training programs are conducted at URC under the supervision of PTI. PTI Superintendent visited URC and gave necessary directions. Also PTI oversees the normal functioning of the URC including sending various files, reports to the higher authority and provides necessary feedback.
